OUR STORY

Operating since 2008, RD Events is a WA based event management & consultancy provider. We work with clients to evolve existing events, develop new event concepts and effectively manage their event asset. The team at RD Events have an appreciation for designing, developing and managing outstanding city and regional based events throughout Australia.

 

Our focus is on overall and operational event management and we have the capacity to go large scale. This includes event ideation to design, budget management, full site management, the development of risk management and compliance documentation, volunteer management, traffic management, HVM (hostile vehicle mitigation), along with key stakeholder and supplier relationships. Our aim is to develop and produce professionally organised events that showcase the area in which they are held and perfectly align with client brand and budget requirements. RD Events are in a position to provide you with the complete integrated solution. This is what we do best!

 

Our qualified and passionate core team brings over 150 years of collective event industry experience. We also have a team of 100 skilled casual event crew who assist us throughout the year with our events.

Chris has been involved in event management in WA since 1995 and has lead over 350 of Perth’s largest events.

 

Starting his first Management company at 22 years old, he has worked on State, National, and International public events plus, Commonwealth and Olympic qualifying sports events, which gives Chris insight to the best operators in Australia and around the world.

 

Chris has a critical understanding of the process and protocol in the execution of large scale and challenging projects with specialised experience in concept development, project planning, statutory approval documentation, risk management and resourcing.

 

In recent years, Chris has expanded the RDE business to include cultural, arts and expo events and is regarded as a leader in the planning and execution of major events across Australia.

Brendan (BT) has vast experience locally and internationally and lead over 200 projects and events, across roles such as Recreation & Fitness Centre Manager at UWA, Head of Sport at Red Bull NZ, Head of Partnerships at Crown Resorts, General Manager at Celebrate WA and Director at Space Collective.

 

With over 20 years of event, project and talent management, BT has delivered large scale events, high risk projects, multi-million-dollar budgets, high value partnerships and commercial deliverables for elite brands and businesses. He has worked for and with many NFP and charity organisations, delivering major events and campaigns that have driven high philanthropic impact and genuine community engagement.

Katie brings twenty years of high level large scale event management, marketing, business operation and project management knowledge from some of Australia’s most trusted and well-known brands.

Katie is an expert in strategic community engagement and customer experience brand management. She also has over 20 years of insight around large scale business management, governance, corporate entities, leading large teams, volunteer and participant management, project managing multi-million dollar budgets, leading mass attendance outdoor events, on road events including parades, International expo & conference roadshows,  internal and external communication, brand management, employee & user experience, risk management, safety and compliance.

 

Her extensive marketing background includes the planning and delivery of hundreds of large-scale brand focused activations focused on experiential marketing and audience experience.

Josh is an experienced event, operations and marine safety leader with a strong background in major event delivery, coastal and on-water events, stakeholder engagement, risk management and marine operations. He has spent almost two decades improving safety at coastal and on-water events across Western Australia, with experience spanning water safety planning, marine logistics, vessel coordination, aerial asset coordination, emergency response and improving participant safety through the use of new technology.

Josh has led and supported safety teams across major aquatic and coastal events, including the Rottnest Channel Swim, National Open Water Swimming Championships, National Rowing Championships and on-water assets for Ironman Busselton. As former CEO of the Rottnest Channel Swim Association, Josh coordinated complex safety operations including support vessels and aircraft used for water safety.

Derryn specialises in delivering end to end, large-scale events within complex environments, with extensive experience across local government and major venues. 

With over a decade of event delivery experience, Derryn brings strong capabilities in logistics and on-site management for festivals, concerts and community programs ranging from 3,000 to 250,000 attendees. 

With a passion for large scale production and sporting events, Derryn is a confident communicator and collaborator, skilled in building strong relationships across diverse stakeholders and delivering events that align with organisational objectives and community outcomes.

Kelsie holds over a decade of event industry experience ranging from local government to regional food and wine festivals.

 

Kelsie delivers behind the scenes logistics with attention to detail and her creative energy brings attendees incredible experiences. Kelsie’s expertise lies in compliance, event operations, logistics, stakeholder relationships, sizeable budgets, community engagement, and event administration.

 

A lover of the outdoors, she holds a special interest in cultural and arts festivals, tourism, and sport events.

Carlya brings a vast background in tourism with her experience as a Tour Guide and Operations and Logistics Manager. She also has a passion for participation events and events for a cause.

 

With a decade of experience working on events, Carlya has a keen eye for detail and has a strong track record of large scale event project management.

 

She has worked on major projects with high stake media, well known charity entities and large budgets, along with the coordination of key stakeholders and suppliers.

Darren manages all the ins and outs of our warehouse, event logistics and resources. With over 30 years of event experience under his belt, Darren has extensive knowledge in site and site crew management, site builds and large scale logistical management.

 

Darren is an expert in site mapping and design. His in depth understanding of the industry makes him able to efficiently resource any event on any scale and keep the seamless running of our events in progress.

Jack has over a 10 years of experience with large scale events and leading large teams. Jack’s specialty is managing our HVM (hostile vehicle mitigation) which involves the coordination of a large number of vehicles and team.

 

The implementation of HVM ensures the safety of event patrons attending our events.

 

Jack works with high level stakeholders to coordinate HVM plans into place, with a strong focus on risk and compliance for all events requiring our HVM services.

Katie has a Bachelor’s degree in Sport, Recreation and Events Management, and a major in Management. With five years of hands-on experience delivering both local and large-scale events, she bring a strong foundation in planning, coordination, and execution. 

Katie has worked on multiple large scale events including the Pridefest WA Pride Parade, MACA Cancer Ride 200 Ride for the Perkins, WA Day metro & regional events. Katie played a large role in the Up All Night event and is the Volunteer Manager for the Walk for Women's Cancer events.

Jay brings over five years large scale event experience with RD Events delivering the annual RD Events calendar. Jay’s extensive site management experience delivers a detailed focus on safety and risk and leading large teams.

 

Jay assists with HVM logistic planning and operations of the City’s largest events including ANZAC Day. In addition, Jay manages the WA Day regional events and plays key leadership roles in all of RD Events major events.
